Let's Play Music Bridge


The Let's Play Music Bridge classes are for students who have graduated the 3 years of the Let's Play Music program. The Bridge program is designed to teach skills in piano technique, theory, and voice in a comfortable group setting. It will review and expand on what was covered in Let's Play Music and help "Bridge" the gap to individual piano teachers and establish a solid level and skills to start with the next teacher. 

Class sized will be 2 - 4 students and will last 60 minutes. 



Bridge provides: 

- Group games and activities

- Advanced theory and technique

- Fun and theory games

- Sight reading skills

- Rhythm development

- Arrangement skills

- Performance skills

- Transposing

- Composing using chords

- Individual piano time with teacher

- Individual "stations" to practice by self or with a partner

- Ensemble and solo playing

- Accompanying soloist/small groups

- Music theory

Piano:

- Can range from Level 1 to Level 3

- Advanced technique and theory

- Play scales in and understand various keys: C Major, C minor, F Major, G Major, A minor, D Major, D minor, A Major, E minor

Vocal instruction and skills:

- Perfect and relative pitch practice, identifying intervals

- Harmony, singing three-part, identifying parts in chords

- Sight singing


Bridge Requirements and Costs

Required:

- Completion of the Let’s Play Music program and the Connections Course during the summer before the program starts.

- Full year commitment: August to May, 30 lessons, plus the recitals (Christmas and Spring)

- 20-30 minutes of practice for 4-5 days each week throughout the year, plus theory assignments. 


Initial Costs:

$80 Enrollment fee paid online covers:

- Flashcards for Bridge

- Songbook

- Technique book

- Workbook w/ assignments, theory, and sight-reading

- Bridge music download (used in class and is required for home practice to play with the arrangements)


$15 Registration fee paid to me directly covers:

- Personal Manipulatives

- Extra sheet music

- Extra private lesson to create composition

- T-shirt


Tuition:

$640/year OR $80/month


Parents are NOT required to attend any classes, but are welcome to observe class. 

If needed there will be a 

- Bridge A class (Advanced) for more advanced and focused students and a 

- Bridge B class (Basic) for younger or more relaxed students

Good behavior and practice is still expected in both classes. I will help you determine which class your child belongs in. The different classes will use the same materials- the main difference is pacing. The advanced class may also receive more training on arranging music, extra keys, and music theory. Adaptations can be made to play up or down a level. 


Soft committal is appreciated as soon as possible to prepare class times and schedule. Full committal with the registration fee is due by June 15 so I can get materials and classes ready.
